About us

आत्मनिर्भर नेपाल is an economic policy research and advocacy organization founded by a group of entrepreneurs, law students, techies, social workers, and general citizens. Our vision is to establish Nepal as the economic hub of SAARC, with the goal of making it the region’s richest country by GDP (PPP) by 2030. To achieve this, we focus on unlocking the potential of key sectors—Tourism, Technology, Energy, and Trade—by identifying and addressing legal and policy barriers. Through comprehensive case studies of various countries, we draft bills, policies, and reports which would open avenues of prosperity and employment in Nepal.

Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, was the first country in Asia to open a casino and is one of the origins of marijuana and hashish. It serves as a crucial crossroads between two of the world's fastest-growing economies, China and India. Despite its natural beauty and these unique distinctions, Nepal remains one of the world's poorest countries.
